How are board members elected? They aren't. When CNWN decided to make the group more structured, Mary Anderson and Ellen Campbell initially volunteered to serve as temporary co-chairmen. That was back in 1993. They did such a great job, their positions just sort of turned permanent. Lynne Aurand became newsletter editor in 1994 after Kari Geiger asked someone to take over the job. And since newsletter funds came from member dues, it seemed reasonable that Lynne also become treasurer. Sherry Siwinski was happy to hand over the job. Recently, Sue Jeffres volunteered to make up monthly writing assignments to encourage members to bring something to read at meetings. And Mary Dey sends in monthly write-ups of our meetings to the Grand Island Independent. |
